Can I ask you a question? It's really important.

Remember when you first got me? It was an exciting time, wasn't it? So much to learn together! We've had a lot of fun so far, and I love being with you. I get really lonely and I remember when you said you wanted to take me everywhere, because I'm a smart, inquisitive little dog and I should be with you. So why can't I just be with you all the time?

But then I got to thinking - maybe you just don't know how to take me along without the hassle and loss of freedom.
